SACRAMENTO – A lucky California Lottery player who purchased a lottery ticket in Pittsburg will have a lot more money to complete their holiday shopping. That’s because their ticket matched five of six numbers in last night’s MEGA Millions draw, earning them a $189,929 prize.
The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 3300 Loveridge Road. The winning numbers were 28, 30, 20, 46, 23 and the Mega number, the only number the player did not match, was 29. No one matched all six numbers, so Friday’s jackpot will be worth an estimated $100 million.
The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
MEGA Millions is a multi-state game, played in California and 11 other states. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a Mega number from 1 to 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s MEGA Millions site for more information.
More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since the Lottery’s inception in 1985, Lottery players have contributed more than $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of nearly $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
